Riot in Tottenham !!
On Thursday 4th August 2011, a man name Mark Duggan was shot dead by the Police in Tottenham in north east London. It has been said that he is the latest of several people to have been killed following encounters with the police.
For two days, the whole area was cut off while police carried out investigations. On Saturday afternoon, local residents rallied at the police station to demand answers to what happened.
The rally which was suppose to be peaceful escalated as, rumours occurred and circulated that the police may have struck a young girl and killed a young man. In any case, the whole area draped into rioting and looting throughout the night and next day.
A peaceful protest which was suppose to take place, escalated into a massive riot with adults and youths of all ages and races, some fill with anger and so just taking advantage this unproductive circulation of rioting people /Looting, spread to neighbouring areas such as WoodGreen with a car set ablaze and some looting from expensive shops such as boots, spec savers , JD sports were invaded into, many youths were seen to have been taking trainers and clothes and posting it up on social networking sites, previous Sky and BBC news had a officer state" we are monitoring social networking site closely to prevent further incidents".
As a local citizen my self in my whole life have i never seen such a scene take place as i im familiar with the area, people taking advantage of a protest , frying chips and making burgers in Mc Donald's people braking into furniture stores stealing carpets, getting suitcases ready to shop buses set on fire, people loosing there homes.
